Eagerly anticipating Web Summit Qatar? The numbers behind our events should whet your appetite.

Web Summit events have gathered half a million people across Web Summit in Europe, Collision in North America, Web Summit Rio in Brazil and RISE in Asia since the company’s beginnings as a 150-person conference in Dublin in 2009.

The New York Times put it best when they said that Web Summit events bring together “a grand conclave of the tech industry’s high priests”. This February, with Web Summit Qatar, we’re bringing our world-renowned success to the Middle East.

Web Summit Qatar will help connect a new generation of founders in the Middle East to investors, journalists, partners and more around the world. It represents a unique opportunity to develop an already fast-growing tech scene in the region.

Take a look at some of the numbers behind our past events to get an idea of the impact Web Summit Qatar is sure to have.

Web Summit

Our annual flagship event in Lisbon each November is by far our biggest and most notable. Referred to as “Europe’s largest tech conference” by Reuters, Web Summit is acclaimed among tech experts and industry leaders alike.

70,000+ attendees

In 2023, more than 70,000 attendees will gather in Lisbon’s Altice Arena for talks, masterclasses, tech demos and more.

160+ countries

Inc. refers to Web Summit as “an exciting event with a global reach”, and that reach has been proven time and again. People from all over the world gather in Lisbon each year to share ideas, network, and learn from the world’s most influential speakers.

1,000+ speakers

Web Summit assembles a diverse mix of entrepreneurs, tech experts, cultural idols and world leaders who impact their fields. Over three days, they share their unique insights with our attendees. Amy Poehler, Robert Habeck and Choi Soo-yeon are just a few of the speakers joining us at Web Summit 2023.

Collision

2023 was a record-breaking year for our North American event, Collision. The Financial Times calls Collision “a technology conference that applies an all-encompassing definition of tech,” and this year’s event was truly unmissable.

36,000+ attendees

Some 36,378 investors, founders, industry experts and world-class speakers joined us from all over the world at our fifth event in Toronto.

110+ countries

This past June, Collision hit a new record by gathering attendees from 118 different countries.

1,400+ startups

Collision is a great opportunity for startups to showcase their companies and garner the attention of global investors. 2023 was no exception. From seed-stage startups to unicorns in the making, some 1,497 fledgling enterprises gathered from 76 different countries.

Web Summit Rio

Perhaps the best example of Web Summit’s rapid success is our first South American event, Web Summit Rio, which took place in May 2023 in Rio de Janeiro. Despite being a new event in a new market, our Rio event was completely sold out – and we’re set for an even larger event in 2024.

21,000+ attendees

Some 21,367 people from 91 countries attended Web Summit Rio to connect, learn, and be inspired by those around them.

14 different tracks

400 speakers gathered across our 14 different content tracks to discuss everything from generative AI to climate change. With an array of topics, there was something for everyone.

506 investors

Investors have called our events “the most highly regarded gathering places for startups, corporations and investors”. With more than 500 VCs at the 2023 event, it’s clear that Web Summit Rio was the ideal place for entrepreneurs looking to get their companies off the ground.

Web Summit Qatar

More than 7,500 people are set to join us at our first event in the Middle East for three reasons: incredible speakers eager to share expertise, unparalleled networking opportunities, and proprietary software designed to maximise your experience.

With expert masterclasses and roundtable discussions on the schedule, our event in Doha will be buzzing with insights from 200-plus speakers from every industry touched by tech.

They’ll be at Web Summit Qatar alongside more than 400 startups eager to get their businesses off the ground. Some 400 investors will join those startups, searching for world-leading founders and the next big thing.

And it’s not just the newest tech companies joining us either… More than 100 established global brands will be taking to the floor at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, showcasing the products and technologies of the future.

All of this will be covered by the more than 500 journalists in attendance, ensuring that our speakers, partners, startups and investors can get their message out to the world.

You won’t want to miss this.

Join us in Doha from February 26-29, 2024, to experience our first Middle Eastern event.
